About the Showcase Tournament

Celebrating its 5th Anniversary this fall, the NAHL Showcase Tournament has evolved into one of hockey's most prestigious and well-attended events of the entire season. For scouting purposes, the four-day event, which will be held this year from September 19-22, is a can't-miss for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer.

Located in the northern Minneapolis-St. Paul suburb of Blaine, Minnesota, the Schwan Super Rink, host of the NAHL Showcase Tournament, is the largest ice arena of its kind in the world. The state-of-the-art facility, a $21 million project totaling over 300,000 square feet, features eight sheets of ice under one roof. With all its varied amenities and services, the Schwan Super Rink is absolutely unique in the world of ice sport facilities.

This season's first NAHL Midget Showcase Series event will again be played in conjunction with the NAHL Showcase Tournament. From its modest beginnings three years ago, the NAHL Midget Showcase has expanded to 30 teams this season. Boasting top players ages 14-16 from across North America with hundreds of junior, college and professional scouts gathered under one roof, the NAHL Midget Showcase offers prime exposure at all levels.

Traditionally, the NAHL Showcase attracts over 5,000 people in overall attendance for the four-day event, including more than 200 college and professional scouts. With the expansion of the season's first Midget Showcase Series event this year, that total is expected to exceed 7,000.

As part of this year's Showcase, the NAHL has entered into an agreement with Next Testing, a cutting-edge program that has set the new standard for athletic performance testing. As part of the agreement, Next Testing will serve as the exclusive testing provider at the NAHL Showcase. To register for the NAHL Showcase Combine, visit Next Testing's Web site.
